Neodymium Fluoride is a kind of white with purple powder. Its density is 6.506g/ml, melting point is 1410℃ and the boiling point is 2300℃. It’s insoluble in water, hydrochloric acid,nitric acid and sulfuric acid, soluble in perchloric acid.
It’s
used for the preparation of scintillator on detector 231, rare earth
crystal laser material and rare earth fluoride glass optical fiber. It’s
the annexing agent of aerial magnesium alloy in metallurgical industry
and used for electrolytic production of cerium.It is used to manufacture
arc lamp carbon electrode in lighting source.
